Wrong Way Vehicle Detection & Warning System

Detect. Activate. Warn.

Zoodico wrong-way warning systems use radar detection to automatically activate coordinated LED traffic signs when a wrong-way vehicle is detected.

Instead of relying on a single sign, multiple DO NOT ENTER, WRONG WAY, or other warning signs can operate together to provide a stronger visual warning.

How the System Works

1. Detect

The radar detection system identifies a vehicle entering or traveling in the wrong direction based on the configured detection zone and direction logic.

2. Activate

The controller applies the selected detection logic and activates the connected warning devices.

3. Warn

Connected DO NOT ENTER, WRONG WAY, and other applicable signs can flash or illuminate together to provide an active visual warning.

Coordinated Warning Signs

The system can connect multiple traffic signs so they activate together when a wrong-way vehicle is detected.

Available configurations may include:

  • DO NOT ENTER + WRONG WAY

  • Multiple WRONG WAY Signs

  • Flashing Perimeter LEDs

  • Internally Illuminated Legends

  • Combined Flashing + Internal Illumination

The number of signs, activation sequence, warning duration, and operating logic can be configured based on the roadway and project requirements.

Day & Night Warning Modes

Wrong Way systems can be configured with different daytime and nighttime warning modes.

Daytime

High-visibility perimeter LEDs can flash when a wrong-way vehicle is detected.

Nighttime

The sign legend can be internally illuminated continuously or in a selected flashing mode, with optional perimeter LED warning.

Photocell-controlled and custom day/night operating modes are available.

Solar or AC Power

AC-Powered

Where utility power is available, AC-powered configurations can support continuous nighttime illumination, flashing operation, or customized warning modes.

Solar-Powered

Solar-powered systems are available where utility power is unavailable or impractical.

Solar panel and battery capacity can be selected based on the number of signs, operating mode, activation frequency, and site conditions.

Built Around Your Roadway

Wrong Way warning systems can be configured based on the specific project.

Radar Detection
Detection and activation settings can be configured for the application.

Linked Signs
Multiple signs can be grouped to activate together.

Warning Duration
Activation time can be adjusted based on project requirements.

Sign Configuration
Choose flashing LEDs, internal illumination, or a combination of both.

Power System
Solar-powered and AC-powered configurations are available.

Custom Signs & Mounting
Sign size, reflective sheeting, legends, mounting, and system layout can be customized where applicable.

For public-road applications, system layout, sign selection, detection settings, warning operation, and installation should comply with applicable MUTCD and roadway-agency requirements and be reviewed for the specific site.
